Lesson Content
Managed settings let an organization enforce policy above local developer preferences. Settings can arrive from server-managed sources, OS policy, managed files, project settings, or user settings depending on environment. The practical lesson is that higher-priority settings can protect the organization from accidental or intentional bypass.
Permission policy should describe allowed tools, ask-first commands, denied actions, approved MCP servers, network boundaries, model choices, hooks, plugins, and customization rules.
